Ye Gigantic Speculator - Jay Gould, One of a set of six stock cards printed by Tobin, NY, showing a famous person of the day and an appropriate caption beginning with "Ye" at the top, this one showing Jay Gould (1836-1892) who was one of the unscrupulous "robber barons" that built a fortune through shady business practices but is credited with taking Western Union to a place of dominance in the telegraph industry, R-adv for Hall's Hats. VG+, medium glue stains over entire reverse but text is sharp and readable. Brought $44.00 in Trade Card Place Auction 183 on 5/12/2012.
