27 - Thomas DeWitt Talmage (1832 - 1902) was a clergyman and lecturer who preached in the Central Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn, NY, where he drew immense crowds because of his eloquence and showmanship. His sermons were published weekly by a syndicate in over 3,000 newspapers. See also Card 7. |
