Cherokee Medicines - A. Lincoln and G. B. McClellan, McClellan was Lincoln's Commander of all U. S. armies during the Civil War until displeased Lincoln dismissed him in 1862 and then ran against Lincoln as a Democrat in the 1864 presidential elections which probably prompted this early and rare card, R-adv (animated) describes various Cherokee Medicines and appeared almost verbatim in a May 14, 1865, New York Times advertisement. VG+, light wear and toning with slight corner bends. Brought $245.00 in Trade Card Place Auction 182 on 4/19/2012. |
